First time commenter here, great job.

I would not put too much stock in the polling now, they still have a long road to hoe. I tried to dig up polling data but the universities who hold the information charge money. So this is not fully scientific. If you remember back at this time in 03, pre the Sleepless Summer Tour Dean was third or fourth depending on the national poll. In Iowa he was basically unknown and he was polling ok in New Hampshire. He surged to front runner and took attacks from all sides and ran out of steam and lost in Iowa.

Clinton in 92 was unknown he even lost Iowa and New Hampshire, so I’m not writing Obama off yet.

For sure, the www.mybarackobama.com site is taking social networking to new levels and propelling Obama's campaign. Whichever staffer thought of that hopefully got a promotion and a raise!

Just wanted to mention that, in the words of Walter Sobchak, "mulatto" is definitely not the preferred nomenclature. The preferred nomenclature currently is "biracial" or "muliracial/ethnic" something like that.

Regardless, good post and it is an issue that definitely needs to be discussed. It is foolish to sit and pretend that race and gender do not matter and will not be on voters' minds. It will be and it is best that we talk about the issues openly.

As for the race, I gotta say that I do expect Hillary to win the nomination, though I would love for Gore to get in the race.

I just want to say that this post is not intended to offend anyone, regardless of race, gender or politics.

Discrimination, in its many and varied forms, will continue to be a major theme in my writing, and I will be working up a post on race in the not-too-distant future.
